Lapwing is an L34 that sails out of Cape Town and is owned by Angela Collins. on our shake down sail we were surprised by the shackle that secures the boom suddenly bursting open and falling off leaving the boom swinging. Luckily we had only a light breeze. Then to our disappointment the foresail would not go up the tracks on the forestay. That will have to be fixed. The winches are not working well but that could be caused by old stiff lines that are sliding instead of gripping. #sailing #lifeisbutadream

25km back into the high country of the Canadian Rockies and we bump into this pair! Mule deer selfies are a thing in the national parks (unfortunately). But this isn’t a park or touristy place. We're finally out of the boatyard! Not too far of a trip to the Marina around the corner, but the change in lifestyle is drastic! Showers, gym, captain's lounge, wifi! Ooooh yeah! Now all we have to do is get that mast back up!
