As always the Cork 1720's were out in force for Volvo Cork Week 2024 this orange kite followed Going to Red the majority of the way down the run after rounding the top mark With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. Some so-so footage of one of the seals we saw on today's outing. The seal is that black ball in the upper right portion of the frame. At about the 30 second mark he dives and you can see the shape of his body, which looks like a big fat black sausage. The footage isn't so great, but we were close enough that we could clearly make out his the features of his face, and could tell he was looking at us; probably as curious about us as we were about him!
