► Discover our full test in Multihulls World N°200: https://www.multicoques-mag.com/essais/catamaran/swiss-cat-55-glamour-et-efficace ► Aimed at the high-end day charter market, this powercat was designed by Yacht Design Collective and Damien Bovie Design. The renders of the 3D images were already giving the effect... but then actually on the water, here we are aboard a catamaran worthy of appearing in the next James Bond movie! The layout is 100% day charter, with an extra-large nacelle - completely open at the stern and towards the bow-rider thanks to a glass door, which can remain open in fair weather. Modular seating throughout, an off-center helm station to starboard and... that’s enough. Each hull is nonetheless fitted with a double berth, plenty of storage space and a heads compartment. The one-off composite construction by Chantier Hervé (no need to introduce them in La Rochelle!), these stripped-down layouts and the absence of a hydraulic platform ultimately translate into a displacement of just 11.5 tons. The twin FPT motors, each rated at 500 HP, have little trouble propelling the Sunmare at 30 knots. On board, the Sunmare’s excellent ability to more through the and careful attention to soundproofing are particularly noteworthy. Maestro, as this boat has been named, will be operated by Croisière Exclusive out of Porto-Vecchio in Corsica for the 2024 season. Other Sunmare 50s could join it... Full test in a forthcoming issue. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Chantier Naval Hervé Architects: Yacht Design Collective Exterior design: Damien Bovie Design Length overall: 50’6” (15.4 m) Length at waterline: 47’11” (14.6 m) Beam: 19’8” (6 m) Draft: 4’ (1.2 m) Displacement: 25,350 lbs (11.5 t) Engines: 2 x 500 HP FPT in-line + 2 x 15 kW (optional) Cruising speed: 20/25 knots Fuel: 396 US gal (1,500 l) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! We've scheduled about a week to sail to San Diego to pick up some things that the previous owner told us he found in storage. He was kind enough to hang onto them until we could schedule time to sail down and get them. Should be a nice trip to shake down all that we have upgraded, too! -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "SBS ep.121 - Sailing Back from Catalina and a Postmortem" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPxhSgXk8sM -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
