We were very charmed by the village of Klima in the south of Milos, where the famous fishermen’s houses with their colorful doors are located right by the sea. These houses are called syrmata. The houses are built into hollowed-out soft rock, where fishermen in the last century stored their boats to protect them from the strong winds and waves. The ground floor serves as a storage space for the boats (during winter), while the fisherman lives on the second floor during the working season, where there is a living area with a sleeping space. We made a short video of these characteristic houses!

A highly emotional moment this morning aboard the Race for Water when the Te mano o te moana team arrived with Ganany, a green turtle of 30 centiments and 6 kilos. The first day of the rest of the life of Ganany start today because, for the first she is going to evolve in total freedom in the Pacific ocean. Offshore the Cook bay, from the Race for Water float, Marco Simeoni and the doctor Cécile Gaspard carefully put him on the water, before seeing him dive and go away... The Race for Water Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the water and the oceans in particular. Meet Kate, one of our crew members here at Sail San Diego! Kate has been on our crew for almost a year now & is one of the friendly faces you’ll meet upon arrival at our sailing lounge & retail shop before setting sail. Kate is a mom of three, 2 of which were twins born on Halloween! 🎃 🎃 She’s an incredible addition to our crew and loves any chance she's able to hop on board a sail. ⛵️ When asked what her favorite thing about sailing is? Her response: Feeling the warmth of the sun 🌞 and just being able to disconnect for 3 hours while out on the water. 🌊🌊
