Let’s talk about those Sailfin Snapper in one of our Ribbons Reef episodes, we’ve been getting a lot of comments on this footage. While we’ve seen plenty of smaller schools over the years, this one was HUGE! We can only assume they were spawning on this reef edge when we came across them - as a lot of other species seemed to be around the same time. Amazing to witness and catch on film. Secondly, a few people have told us these are good eating however the first thing that shows up on a google search is that they’ve got a high cig risk. So yeah, don’t think I’ll risk that. Would love to hear your thoughts. #FishSpawning #SpawningEvent #SailfinSnapper #GBR #GreatBarrierReef #Diving #Ocean #fishing **SUPPORT US** For bonus content and giveaways please consider supporting us at Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/uap Buy us a beer! paypal.me/sailingpopao ***OUR GEAR*** Quick Dry Will & Wind Towels https://willandwind.com.au/?ref=svpopao 10% Coupon: 'JESSIE10' Goosehill SUP Board: https://goosehillsport.com/?ref=atc3qwtglr2 10% Coupon: 'JESS10' Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referral/sachcw/
If you don't have a launching trolley then the simplest way to get your boat up and down the beach is with an inflatable roller like this. Of course, unlike a trolley, you can take it with you, just deflate it and roll it up. Obviously you really need two or three (but I just have one - for now!). Don't get one that is too short or the boat might roll off the end of it. Of course a wide, flat bottomed boat works best. I got mine from www.sailormall.net, search for pneumatic roller, not inflatable roller! Duckworks sell them in the USA www.duckworksbbs.com/gear.htm The boat I am pulling up the beach is my Strike 15 trimaran, having just come in from a chilly February sail in Port Townsend, Wa, USA See more at my website www.sailingcatamarans.com
