Sunshine and a steady 8 knots to 10 knots of breeze breeze greeted the competitors for the annual Bar Bouy race out of the Strangford Lough narrows and back again GTR worked to leeward of it main competitors before breaking out into the stronger current with around 20 seconds to go. The Elan Hindsight stretched out to a lead over over two minutes at the first mark during racing at the Quoile Yacht Club 2 Day Event after a great decision to gybe away from the fleet to head over to the Portaferry shoreline to get relief from the tide. The team on J109 Going to Red worked hard up the first beat to close the gap before gliding by into the lead with a textbook leebow about half way to the second racing mark.
