J109 GTR beating up the shore to stay out of the tide shortly after the start of the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. The skipper on RS 21 Dark and Stormy was not happy with the call as they wanted to head in further, we are glad they tacked when they did as we got down to less the 3 feet under the keel shortly after the tack. We sail from Kekova to Kas in Turkey this morning, we leave early to catch some favourable wind and are treated to a beautiful sunrise 😍 and we finally have a sunny day! Unfortunately no wind in the end though so we end up motoring the whole way, plus our autopilot is currently broken so we hand steered today, but none the less we’ve had a beautiful day around Kas
