The Figure 8 is one of the greatest knots of all. This is the figure 8 stoppper knot, used to prevent line from slipping through grommets, pulleys and the like. It's used in sailing, boating, climbing and ton of other applications. This is also the first part of a proper figure 8 knot for climbing. While not the most practical way to tie this knot, it looks kinda cool. This is the 5th water outage this month in Sunninghill. I don't know who got the tender for fitting the pipes in this neighbourhood, but they need to come back and redo the entire job. I can't remember one month we've made it through without at least one days water being cut.
