Some days are loud… but this one wasn’t. This one was perfect. A slow start on the boat, followed by joining the Buren Bay community to clean the beach, a healthy lunch at Yadon Care at the tip of Uken Inlet, and a gentle sunset that seemed to say, “Well done today.” It reminds me that the smallest moments, solo silence, shared work, healthy food, quiet sunset, end up feeling like the big ones. This video was taken by a friend as we're approaching a favorite bay. We're reaching down the wind, so our boards are up to reduce drag. This is our prototype Split Junk Rig (SJR), an innovation by Slieve McGalliard. Camber and set are adjustable via lacings along top and bottom of each panel. Later, we sewed the final sail to match. The mizzen (aft) sail stays flat for decisive maneuvering and quiet weather-cocking.

Mutiny on a sailing cat While we were ashore, Mocha, the boat cat, took the opportunity to mutiny, allowing our sailboat to drag anchor. All she did was meow. That's it!
