This video accompanies my Lake Havasu talk to the HPCC. Taken in N Germany on our return from the USSR in 1989 it shows that you don't always mean to beach a boat. We had no charts for this section of the coast. The masts were down as we had just passed under a low bridge. Phantom 32 Yacht

It’s not the yacht. It’s the people. That’s why it feels like home. 🤍⚓️ I’ve watched it happen trip after trip. At first, it’s just a yacht. Clean. Neutral. Quiet. Then people arrive. Shoes kicked off. Bags dropped. Someone makes tea. Someone laughs too loud. Kids leave wet towels. Someone forgets a book on the table. Music starts playing. And slowly, the yacht changes. It fills with conversations, shared meals, silly moments, deep talks at sunset. People cooking together. Dancing a little. Sitting close when the sea gets quiet at night. Sometimes it’s a bit messy. Sometimes loud. Sometimes emotional. But that’s exactly when it stops feeling like a yacht…and starts feeling like home.
