Tow ropes can be super dangerous. You might think that a barge is self propelled and not notice the tow rope from the tug ahead. These are in the ocean as well as rivers and other waterways. It is an easy mistake to miss. Sometimes the ropes can be very long.

Strike 18ft sailing trimaran by Woods Designs on its first sail, so it is still unfinished, but still steers itself quite happily. It has a home built main hull and uses a beach cat for rig and outriggers You can build this boat yourself in plywood. I also have a smaller Strike 16 and a more performance oriented Strike 15. As well as dozens of other multihull designs, both power and sail, that you can build. Check out my website www.sailingcatamarans.com for more

Even on a 24ft Strider catamaran it does not roll when lying beam on to waves with all sails down. Try doing this on a 24ft monohull! See more on the Woods Designs website www.sailingcatamarans.com I also have a range of other multihull designs, both power and sail from 14-45ft that you can build yourself from plans
