We completed Leg One of Voyage, Heading to Tokyo for 70th Birthday and Gerontology Conference First Mate Ian is staying on board and I'm heading to Tokyo for a 70th birthday celebration and to attend a gerontology conference where I'm on the organizing committee. I'm also there to support a keynote speaker who I helped get a book published. Il tempo corre con noi e noi proviamo a superarlo. Vogliamo essere all’imbocco di Gibilterra entro lunedì sera per capire il da farsi e per evitare la sventagliata che torna a soffiare da nord. Allora vela e motore, motore e vela. Ogni tanto si alza il vento e riduciamo motore, senza mai riuscire a spegnerlo. Teniamo una media di 7 nodi a 40 gradi con il vento. Chiacchiere, silenzi, riposo e lampughe insaporiscono questa veleggiata e ci portano miglio dopo miglio sempre più vicini a casa.
