While looking for a cell phone signal in my tender outside of Squirrel Cove in Desolation Sound, this whale surfaced just off my stern. A nine foot boat feels rather small in comparison. I just sat and watched for quite some time until it was out of sight.

There was no wind, then there was some wind, then she took off with the slightest breeze. A bit later than this video, she topped 9 knots in 3bf wind, she impressed us.
