This knot is called a round turn and two half hitches. And the round turn of two half hitches is a fantastic knot for tying on fenders. It's also a great knot for tying your dinghy up to a piling. So here are the steps to do a round turn and two half hitches. You go all the way around your stanchion or the dock post, leave quite a bit of tail. So there's our round turn we like to go over and you come back through that triangle, tighten it up, and the second time we come under. And then back over and that tightens it up. And that's a clean looking round turn, two half hitches. And you can see how that is a real strong, solid knot that's gonna hold your fenders or your dinghy to a dock.

► Full report in Multihulls World N°197: https://www.multihulls-world.com/articles-catamaran-trimaran/lagoon-world-escapade-over-400-catamarans-get-together-all-over-the-world ► It's not every day that a shipyard celebrates its 40th anniversary... and when it's the world’s #1 cruising multihull shipyard, things are bound to be done in style! At Lagoon, celebrations are taking place throughout 2024, having started in March with the presentation of the Lagoon 60 at their Bordeaux site and continued with the Lagoon Escapade. Over the long weekend of May 17, 18 and 19, no fewer than 30 owners’ rendezvous were held simultaneously all around the world (well, almost simultaneously, ignoring the time difference...). In all, 300 Lagoons and 1,500 crew celebrated this anniversary. We were at the Lagoon Escapade in Turkey with Lagoon brand manager Thomas Gailly. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Watch the full story now on our channel In this powerful episode, we journey to a remote island community to meet Arjulin, a local conservationist who's quietly protecting one of the ocean’s most vulnerable treasures: the giant clam. Once nearly lost to overharvesting and neglect, these gentle giants are now making a slow comeback, thanks to Arjulin’s dedication. Through traditional knowledge, deep respect for nature, and a fierce sense of guardianship, he’s helping preserve both the reef and his community’s connection to the sea. 🎥 This film is part of our Local Hero Series, celebrating the unsung individuals who embody the values we hold dear: marine conservation, cultural connection, and purpose-driven travel. If you believe travel should inspire, educate, and protect, this is a story you won’t want to miss. 🛥️ Subscribe for more stories of real change, from the heart of the sea. 🔗 Learn more about our boutique sailing expeditions and how you can travel with purpose. #ConservationHero #SustainableTravel #GiantClams #OceanGuardians #EcoTravel #MarineLife #CulturalJourney #SailingAdventure #NatureDocumentary #SlowTravel #TravelWithPurpose #seatreksailingadventures
