Check out the start of the race: Boris Herrmann on Malizia - Yacht Club de Monaco starting the Bermudes 1000 race on 9th May 2019 at 5pm. There are 17 IMOCAs in this offshore race over 2000nm from Douarnenez to the Fastnet rock and then down to the Azores. Ira took flight for a moment after being launched from her seat. Thankfully she landed in the boat, and thankfully her head was okay! It was a really hard beat out the gate and over the San Francisco bar. This place is no joke when it's full-on! Can you imagine what it would have been like when the current was in full flood just a few hours before!?
