Hey! Barranco del Infierno - a trail in the south of Tenerife where only 300 people are allowed to enter a day. Short little video of my dad, mom, little sister Sofia and I when we did this hike together when they were on Tenerife visiting me earlier this year. Don’t let their cute eyes fool you! The peacock mantis #shrimp has one of the most powerful punches in the animal kingdom. Its club-like appendages can strike with the speed of a bullet, reaching up to 23 metres per second (about 50 miles per hour). This punch is so forceful that it can break through the shells of #crabs, #clams, and even aquarium glass. For years the Filicudi WildLife Conservation Association has been involved in research applied to the conservation of cetaceans and sea turtles in the Aeolian Archipelago. A lot of the work is the outcome of the incredible collaboration with public and private research institutions and many Italian universities. In this video we see what the researchers and volunteers from the Association spot on a regular basis, luckily, more often recently than before: dolphins in the northern part of Sicily, by the Archipelago.
