We were able to find items at Hillside Food Supply at Long Island Bahamas that we were not able to find back at George Town. The market is very close to the Dinghy dock which is a private dock, but made graciously available to cruisers. Take a left on Queens Highway at the top of the street (Basil Street) and the market is on the right less than a 1/4 mile down the road. The variety at this food market is awesome. Perfect stop for provisioning going south. Long Islanad Bahamas is a really cool island and a ton to see. On the other hand, the atmosphere both on and off the water has never been better. The trade winds, in fine form at between 20 and 25 knots, undoubtedly had something to do with it... The five entrants in CSA 1 enjoyed superb courses towards Saba, Saint-Barts and Anguilla. The HH66 Lee Overlay Partners (ex Nemo) put on a great show, impressively flying a hull and, above all, peak speeds pushing 30 knots. The Gunboat 72 Layla was not to be outdone, with her GPS recording a top speed of 24.5 knots. The La Grande-Motte shipyard's first flybridge catamaran won the overall race on corrected time. The Diam 24 fleet was of course severely tested by the choppy conditions, but there too, they put on quite a show. In this fury of spray and exciting runs, the crew of Anomaly came out on top, leaving their rivals with no chance of a rematch. For the past two years, the CMC has been running a second division called Rally. This year, the 9 participants were accompanied - and looked after - by our Marketing Director Gwen Dorning.
