While sailing down the coast of California I went up to the bow of the boat to get some insta360 footage and Ira pulled into a fatty! With a double reefed main and 100% jib, we still got the boat up to 15 knots on this one. Tons of fun! #ourladydefiant #yachtracing #sailboat #liveaboard #insta360 #Jboat #J133

Maserati Multi70 (ITA), skippered by Giovanni Soldini, crossed the finish line of the 2020 Rolex Middle Sea Race at the Royal Malta Yacht Club to take Multihull Line Honours at 20:41:31 CEST on Monday 19th October in an elapsed time of 2 days, 08 hours 31 minutes 31 seconds. Mana (ITA), owned by Riccardo Pavoncelli, finished fifteen minutes behind after a closely fought battle around the course. "That was really a great race. There was many many moments. It was really a contact race. We were always together (Mana), we didn't split. It wasn't a tactical problem, it was more speed and manouvers." "It was really nice to have a great competitor. I think it was the best Rolex Middle Race I've ever done, for sure." - Giovanni Soldini, Skipper of Maserati Multi70. #RolexMiddleSeaRace Giovanni Soldini Pagina Ufficiale

If you don't have a launching trolley then the simplest way to get your boat up and down the beach is with an inflatable roller like this. Of course, unlike a trolley, you can take it with you, just deflate it and roll it up. Obviously you really need two or three (but I just have one - for now!). Don't get one that is too short or the boat might roll off the end of it. Of course a wide, flat bottomed boat works best. I got mine from www.sailormall.net, search for pneumatic roller, not inflatable roller! Duckworks sell them in the USA www.duckworksbbs.com/gear.htm The boat I am pulling up the beach is my Strike 15 trimaran, having just come in from a chilly February sail in Port Townsend, Wa, USA See more at my website www.sailingcatamarans.com
