Our apprentices at The Pioneer Sailing Trust work on commercial projects, building Harker's Yard rowing gigs. The first 19 gigs were built from a cold-moulded construction, using three layers of mahogany. These wooden coastal rowing gigs are based on an East Coast design, specifically adapted for racing. They are slightly shorter (24ft) than traditional Cornish gigs and are rowed by a crew of four, plus a coxswain. These gigs are a key part of the coastal rowing scene in the East of England, with the Harker's Yard Gig Association (HYGA) organising a popular winter racing series. The current gigs are a composite version of the East Coast gig with the same specification, but instead of cold-mouldered, the hull is made from fibreglass with a wooden fitout and built-in buoyancy. With thanks to the The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery players for help in supporting our projects! #thepioneersailingtrust #HarkersYard #Pioneer #Rowing #HarkersYardGigAssociation #HeritageFundUK
The new Petestep hull design on these SAY 42 (2023 models) is an exciting development for boating enthusiasts. It features a unique step system that reduces drag and increases speed, making for a smoother and more efficient ride. One of the key features of this SAY Carbon Yacht is its innovative hull design, which incorporates the patented Petestep technology. This unique step system reduces drag and increases lift, allowing the yacht to achieve higher speeds and better fuel efficiency than traditional hull designs. Contact us and schedule your private sea trial on board our SAY 42 so called "supercar on water" and get to know your SAY Carbon Yachts Ibiza dealer. It's time to #exploreIbizatherightway! On a day of sunshine with 15-18 knots of southwesterly breeze, John Taylor’s Vindaloo and Rohan Veal’s 38 South Racing had a chance to really show off what they can do. There were plenty of big smiles amongst the crew as the two boats lit up downwind, exchanging gybes and finishing within a boat length of each other on the first race. “That was lots of fun” said John Taylor with a broad grin as as he stepped off his boat. www.mcconaghyboats.com www.facebook.com/McConaghyBoats @Yachting World @Sailing World magazine @Seahorse Sailing Magazine @Yachting Australia @Sailing Anarchy @Live Sail Die @Sail World @Australian Sailing + Yachting @NSW Maritime has @TPDmedia @Scuttlebutt Sailing News
Step onto the wide steps of the Lagoon 60 and come aboard! The aft cockpit welcomes you and reveals its full potential at first sight. Life on board has never looked so promising ! ⛵✨ _______________________________________________________ CATAMARAN INNOVATORS SINCE 1984 Lagoon was formed in pursuit of connection – with ourselves, our loved ones and the world around us. By bringing the human experience to the 7 seas, we’ve been able to unleash an unbridled sense of curiosity and instinctual need for quality since 1984. Something we wouldn’t have accomplished without a collective passion for spectacular destinations and even better journeys getting there. As confirmed sailors, we all know that our boats have to be fast, comfortable and safe: seaworthy. We build them based on our love of the sea and the constant aim of good-quality work. We design them as if we were the future owners. As shipbuilders and sailors, it is part of our logic.
