As I continue traveling through Japan’s longevity hotspots, I keep hearing a surprisingly common response from people who remain active, healthy, and engaged deep into old age: “I don’t worry too much.” And I notice something else as well. They laugh easily. This Short is another small Field Note from my ongoing research into healthy aging, community, and what I call “Red Zone Rebels”, people who seem to compress the years of decline often associated with old age. Finally! The Wild Thing 100 grapevine helped us capture her arriving through Sydney Heads this morning (Sunday), this time with her sails up. Sailing down from Queensland over the last 24 hours, her AIS showed her clocking some solid speeds.
