Orcas during our passage from the Faroe Islands to Norway. What an incredible experience to see these beautiful and powerful animals. They stayed around Guppy for a little while surfacing a few times before heading off again on their own journey. #killerwhales #orca

First Light - Beneteau First 35 slipping into the main harbour at the half way mark of the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you like this short clip from our week of racing at Volvo Cork Week 2024

In August this year while heading for Alor we had the privilege of sighting and following a pod of tropical orcas just south of Pantar Island, East of Flores. We stayed with the pod for over an hour. There were 2 males 2 females and a calf. At one stage to our amazement, the orcas swam underneath the Seven Seas on their backs looking up at us. Very hard to describe the feeling of this incredibly beautiful Apex predator playing with us. Truly a highlight of the trip.
