Ancora una volta è l’italiana Persico Marine a essere protagonista di un nuovo progetto high tech, questa volta in collaborazione con lo studio Carkeek Design, stiamo parlando del nuovo F70, un super racer dotato di foil. “Siamo estremamente soddisfatti di aver concluso un accordo con Carkeek Design per offrire al mercato uno spettacolare yacht full-foiling”, ha dichiarato Marcello Persico, presidente di Persico Marine, che ha aggiunto “Non vediamo l’ora di collaborare con Shaun Carkeek e il suo eccezionale team. Le barche di Carkeek Design si sono rivelate vincenti – la loro Ran VII è stata premiata con il 2018 World Sailing Boat of the Year. E siamo sicuri che questo nuovo foiler da 70′ sarà un vero yacht innovativo” ha dichiarato Marcello Persico. “Quest’anno, Persico ha fatto notizia per il suo ruolo nella nell’America’s Cup del 2021″ spiega in una nota lo studio Carkeek Design. Non solo il cantiere ha costruito le due barche di Luna Rossa Challenge, ma è anche il fornitore dei bracci di foil per tutte le barche dell’America’s Cup. E il nostro fullfoiling di ultima generazione day racer sfrutterà appieno la vasta esperienza di Persico Marine”. Day racer è la parola chiave per raccontare questo F70. I foil principali combinati con i foil a T del timone sono progettati per far volare l’F 70 a 10 nodi di vento reale. I sistemi di controllo e movimento dei foil personalizzati dell’F 70 utilizzano le ultime tecnologie sviluppate per l’America’s Cup e gli Imoca 60, in modo da offrire un controllo di volo sicuro ma preciso e in tutte le condizioni. Anche perché nelle intenzioni del committente c’è anche quella di usare la barca per uscite giornaliere in stile day sailing, la performance del mezzo deve quindi essere coniugata con una conduzione non troppo complessa. Tutti i componenti in composito saranno costruiti in-house presso il cantiere Persico Marine, utilizzando il l’ultima tecnologia robotica sviluppata da Persico. Per riassumere, Marcello Persico tira le conclusioni di questa nuova sfida in attesa di vedere la barca in acqua nei prossimi mesi: “L’F 70 è stato concepito e sviluppato come un robusto e versatile yacht per qualsiasi armatore ed è quindi ugualmente adatto per il day sailing o per le regate inshore, così come per una tipica regata da 150 a 600 miglia”.
