Alexander Marine as exclusive importers of Galeon Yachts are pleased to present the Galeon 435 GTO model to the Australian and New Zealand market. The 435 GTO is the latest and largest addition to the powerful lineup of Galeon Yachts outboard powered models, with its sleek contours and versatile space distribution on board, bound to stand out in any marina. The silhouette is a clear evolution of the acclaimed 375 GTO with even more aggressive lines and eye-catching details fitted onto the two-tone exterior. The striking side profile features full-length hull windows and partially glazed fold-down balconies, while the wheelhouse is surrounded by glass for unobstructed, 360 degree views. Galeon Yachts are famous for introducing the Beach Mode to a wider audience, with deployable port and starboard balconies that extend the width of the cockpit significantly to provide additional space for activities and entertaining guests on board. Another unique feature comes in the form of folding glass doors dividing the cockpit to allow full climate control and added security in the wheelhouse. The main deck includes the port side wetbar, a U-shaped dinette and three independent sport helm seats. Both side windows can be lowered into the hull - a marvel of engineering considering their size and location. An oversized, tinted sunroof comes in two pieces and can be retracted at a moment's notice. Down below, a well appointed galley area holds generous storage and offers standing height with easy access to both guest cabins. Opposite the galley, the head comes fitted with upscale cabinetry and a walk-in shower to keep things tidy and organised. The master cabin is in the bow and equipped with a double bed and a plethora of storage areas. The interior is well-lit thanks to the oversized windows, ceiling skylight and dispersed LED illumination. Quality and finish are typical Galeon's superb standards with sophisticated and curved woodwork, stainless steel details and a variety of custom options to choose from. The guest cabin is located midships and features a double and single bed. The full-sized doors allow for easy access during the day and privacy by night for your guests. The portside flush floor design allows easy walkthrough access from the helm to the wide bow, where a seating arrangement with a table or a complete sunpad awaits. The front bench is set in a reclined position with sporty headrests and stylish, two-tone quilted upholstery. To minimize rocking motion from waves, swell, and wake, the Galeon 435 GTO can be optioned with a gyroscopic stabiliser. Powering the vessel are triple Mercury Verado outboard engines with various horsepower options. With top performance, striking design and upscale quality the 435 GTO is a worthy addition to the Galeon Yachts lineup, far exceeding the expectations for this class of vessel. Please note: Alexander Marine is the official Galeon Yachts dealer for Australia and New Zealand. As such, we benefit from superior product knowledge and the ongoing resources of the Galeon factory and production staff. Buy your next Galeon vessel with utmost confidence via our office. The Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter type has long been held in the highest of esteem as the perfect all round sailing vessel, and ALPHA completely fits that billing. https://www.sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk/yacht/479/ALPHA Call Barney Sandeman: +44 (0)1202 330077 ALPHA's long and interesting life has been guaranteed to last many more years after a restoration undertaken by and under the supervision of some of the best possible practitioners of their craft, for owners who really knew what they wanted based on long experience under sail, and an intense two seasons of intimacy with ALPHA as purchased and pre-restoration. Independent of all the superb craftsmanship, the key element that has been restored in ALPHA is her ability from birth as a superbly easily handled vessel under sail and power by just two people, whilst offering the most comfortable of accommodation for long periods with plenty of space for friends.
We had an interesting final sail on Peter's Firebird in the most wind I sailed in when in Barbados - we sailed with 2 reefs. Peter's friend Eric has a foiling waveboard and he wanted to foil behind the Firebird. In the end he managed it, but there was lots of falling in at the beginning. It was hard work for Peter and I as we had to start at near zero speed, so Eric could grab the tow rope, then slowly accelerate to about 7 knots so he could get ready for lift off. Then accelerate to 10 knots very quickly, so he could lift out. And then control the speed at 10-12 rather than surge up to 15-18. But of course the wind would drop, or he'd fall in or.... but, as I say, after 2 hours he did manage to fly for maybe 30 secs. Although, if we were quick enough, we could stop and heave to after he fell in, sometimes we sailed on too far and then we had to pull in the tow rope (we discovered it was too easy to get it entangled on rudders and daggerboards), tack round and sail back. As always it was scary how quickly a head disappears from view. But interestingly we could easily see him when he was in the sun, it was when he was north of us that he became invisible (one of his sons kept a very close eye on Dad, religiously pointing to his position). Flat water helped, and lots of passing day charter cats got a bit confused by seeing a swimmer apparently a mile out to sea but happily waving!
