A glimpse of what a museum visit actually looks like. We are careful to respect traditions and customs, so not making fun of them in any way. Mostly making fun of us being typical tourists.

We’ve pampered and refined this boat, restoring it with elegant details it wasn’t originally born with. This is a second-generation model (MK-II), featuring an elliptical keel and rudder. With around 2 tons of lead keel on a 3.4-meter-wide hull, the boat is very stable, and with its newer mast and rod rigging, you’ll have a vessel that will serve you well for...

http://blog.boats.com/2013/02/desperate-to-go-fishing-busting-ice-at-the-marina/ For more videos about fishing, visit www.boats.com. Sub-freezing cold may have the marina locked up in ice, but dedicated anglers will still feel the urge to go fishing, and even if the fish are frozen stiff, a day of recreational oyster tonging or some simple cold-weather cruising can cure your cabin fever. But busting out of the slip or boat ramp can damage your boat's fiberglass. For all you winter boaters with a mission, this ice-breaking tactic will get you out on the water, without doing any harm.

Our apprentices at The Pioneer Sailing Trust work on commercial projects, building Harker's Yard rowing gigs. The first 19 gigs were built from a cold-moulded construction, using three layers of mahogany. These wooden coastal rowing gigs are based on an East Coast design, specifically adapted for racing. They are slightly shorter (24ft) than traditional Cornish gigs and are rowed by a crew of four, plus a coxswain. These gigs are a key part of the coastal rowing scene in the East of England, with the Harker's Yard Gig Association (HYGA) organising a popular winter racing series. The current gigs are a composite version of the East Coast gig with the same specification, but instead of cold-mouldered, the hull is made from fibreglass with a wooden fitout and built-in buoyancy. With thanks to the The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery players for help in supporting our projects! #thepioneersailingtrust #HarkersYard #Pioneer #Rowing #HarkersYardGigAssociation #HeritageFundUK
