Racing the Radial at the top level requires a very high level of core fitness in order to endure the hiking and body-torque techniques essential to get the boat moving fast. Radial sailing also requires a tactical mind as championships are some of the closest on the Olympic sailing circuit, often coming down to the very last minute.
