We will board the liveaboard in Saumlaki, one of the easternmost islands in Indonesia. We'll then sail north through the Banda Sea through a chain of islands and atolls known as the Forgotten Islands. One of the attractions of the Banda Sea, besides us most likely being the only boat in the area, are the reefs. They are absolutely mind-blowing. The coral is so dense that you will be hard-pressed to see any patches of the reef's limestone foundation. Many of the reefs consist of expansive fringing hard coral plateaus that extend from the island or atoll and then eventually drop off into the deep blue. These walls or slopes are covered in sponges, colorful soft corals, and sea fans. Additionally, there will be plenty of reef dwellers like dazzling schools of tropical fish, larger pelagic species like tunas, jacks, and batfish passing in the blue, and juvenile reef sharks patrolling the shallows. It's also the time of the year when the blue whales start their migration south to Australia. Thus, it may be possible to spot one or several from the boat.

Alexander Marine are pleased to present the 2011 Maritimo 56 Skylounge 'Ohana' to the market as central agents. 'Ohana' is certainly not your average Maritimo! The 56 model offers a sporty profile when compared to the "squarer" M52 & M60 siblings - indeed 'Ohana' looks fast even when she is tied up to the dock! She was highly customized for extended cruising by her passionate first owner, and her current and second owner have further refined the vessel by conducting numerous meaningful additional upgrades. 'Ohana' has spent her life cruising the beautiful reefs and coastline of Queensland. With this intention in mind, she was built complete with a Seakeeper gyro for maximum comfort underway - this is especially relevant at long-range displacement cruising speeds. With an LOA of 60 feet this is a fantastic owner-driver vessel for husband and wife adventurers who like to have a bit of room. 'Ohana' has the space for cruising in comfort, the style to live luxuriously on the water and the power to get you to some of the most spectacular places only accessible by boat, safely and efficiently. The Maritimo brand speaks for itself with a reputation for producing high quality offshore capable luxury motor yachts influenced by the Australian lifestyle - the perfect boat for coastal hopping and offshore cruising. Overall 'Ohana' is a capable, proven and well-maintained cruising vessel from a highly regarded manufacturer - its time to jump onboard and leave the rat race behind in search of reefs and sunsets. The timing of her sale is perfect - follow the sun this winter and head north for the Queensland cruising season festivities.
