On Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 as the sailboat fleets made their way in from the evening races, they were glad to beat the thunderstorm that was coming in from the west. Just at dusk eye witnesses saw a lightning bolt hit a 30 ft ketch swinging on a mooring in McKinley harbor, downtown Milwaukee. " It lit up like a Christmas tree" was how one observer described the event. A curious dwarf Minke Whale eyeing off Silversonic's lucky snorkellers! This curious dwarf minke whale delighted and amazed snorkellers travelling with Port Douglas dive and snorkel vessel Silversonic on Saturday. The minke believed to be a full adult swam around the vessel and surfaced several times as if saying "hello and welcome to my world" to everyone while the vessel was moored at Phil's Bommie at Agincourt Reef. The construction of the brand new SW108#01 HYBRID is in full swing, with the hull’s bottom infusion process completed. This lamination technique uses vacuum pressure to suck resin through a dry laminate made up of layers of composite cloths. We introduced carbon fiber in the construction of maxi yachts in 2000. In 2004, upon having fine-tuned the infusion technique on flat panels and on structural elements, we began infusing hulls and decks, becoming the pioneer in mastering this composite construction process. The results are light yet sturdy, reliable yachts built to sail in every sea!
