I can not believe this is the final step on replacing the rotten deck! I've made it! I am so excited, I waited for this day for such a long time. All the hard work, and finally the deck will get finished :) I know I know it's only a small part of the whole boat progress and there is still so much more work that needs to be done, the list is long: new bulwarks, sanding-welding-painting the rail, fiberglass repairs on the main cabin, fixing leaking hatches, installing one new hatch, repainting the whole boat, underwater repairs on the prop shaft once the boat gets lifted again, changing the switchboard for the electronics and so much more. | Palm Beach XI sailed up the Derwent River just on sunset to take 5th place in Line Honours. A remarkable achievement given the little sailing time the crew had prior to the race and in light of abandoned fishing lines getting wrapped around their keel and dagger boards.
