Wir sind gemeinsam mit unseren Kindern den Krater des Vulcano hochgelaufen. FĂźr uns alle war es das erste Mal auf einem Krater. Der Weg war steil und anstrengend, und wir haben immer wieder kurze Pausen gemacht. Mit jedem StĂźck hat sich die Landschaft verändert. Zuerst Sträucher und Bäume, dann sandig vom Vulkansand, später stellenweise lehmig. Am Kraterrand kam der Geruch nach Schwefel dazu, so intensiv, dass wir kurz stehen geblieben sind. Wir haben viel erklärt, Fragen beantwortet und versucht einzuordnen, was wir sehen. Und gleichzeitig haben wir selbst gemerkt, wie anders es ist, so einen Ort wirklich zu erleben. Es war ein besonderer Moment fĂźr uns alle. Und genau solche Erfahrungen sind es, weswegen wir reisen. Weil sie später als Erinnerung bleiben.â
