Still in Cape Town for Day 3. We started the day at the V&A Waterfront Marina; there, we were able to follow the finishing work being done on a Balance 442. This phase, which lasts about 10 days, includes setting the sails, checking the rigging, and finally the Owner's handover after that. Then, we were able to visit the Ullman Sails factory with Tony Strutt. Gail and I took the MAC up the lake and up the Waikato to almost the Whakamaru Dam. It took a few seconds from still to get on the plane, but the little 15hp performed really well. I guess with fuel and fishing gear and lunch etc - we had 250kg aboard + 200Kg boat and motor. Top speed 35 kmh.
