Rain and a light 8-10 knot northerly accompanied Master Lock Comanche as she entered the Sydney Heads this morning a little after 11am, taking Line Honours in the One Circular Quay Audi Centre Sydney BWPS Cabbage Tree Island Race. Unfortunately for Law Connect, which was powering towards the Heads almost in sight of Comanche through the rain, the breeze clocked left into the northwest and died in between the Heads, leaving Law Connect having to tack to round South Head. And yes, that is Crosbie in the video trying to take photos in the rain with an umbrella up!
The Mat1010 Elixir hunts down the J109 GTR shortly after the stare of the deciding race 3 in the annual Narrows Series on Strangford Lough. With the wind running straight up the narrows and the tide moving faster than it at times it was key to keep some speed up so that you did not loose steerage. Elixir was ducking and weaving to find a gap and punched through into the lead shortly after this clip. She stretched out a solid lead before GTR pulled back time after setting the Code Zero on Leg 4 of the race. This sail choice was game changer which gave Going to Red the win in race 3 and the overall series. The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you enjoyed this short clip for a great weekend of Yacht Racing.
