SEA TURTLES CAUGHT IN GHOST NET #indianocean #sailing #shorts #nature #ocean Sailing across the Indian Ocean our sailing family came across two Hawksbill sea turtles trapped in ghost netting, floating in the ocean, close to death. We set to work removing the fishing net that had entangled them, cutting into their skin and their shells. We were just in the right place at the right time to free these beautiful creatures and give them back their freedom. Men det som verkligen skiljer sig gรฅr inte att mรคta i timmar eller kilometer i timmen. Skillnaden i tid รคr lรคtt att fรถrstรฅ. Vi flyger รถver Atlanten pรฅ 8 timmar i ungefรคr 900 km/h. Nรคr vi seglade tog det drygt 500 timmar i ungefรคr 15 km/h. Siffror รคr enkla. Men mycket av det som verkligen skiljer resorna รฅt gรฅr inte lika lรคtt att beskriva. Nรคr man seglar infinner sig ett lugn och tempot sรคnks. Man gรฅr ner i varv och fokuserar pรฅ det mest grundlรคggande: รคta, sova och segla. Att transportera sig lรฅngsamt รคr faktiskt ganska hรคrligt. Det finns gott om tid fรถr reflektion. Och reflektera hinner man. Vad hรคnder egentligen i huvudet nรคr man i 500 timmar bara ser รถppet hav, 360 grader runt omkring sig? Fรถr mig hรคnde en hel del. Flygresan var sรฅklart smidig. Och barnen tyckte det var en upplevelse. "Vรคrldens bรคsta dag!" sa Nils nรคr han hittade en Star Wars-film pรฅ skรคrmen i flygstolen. Och Oscar var minst lika nรถjd med frukosten: varm choklad, chokladkaka och macka med mangomarmelad ๐ Vad vi fรถrรคldrar tycker om skรคrm och socker kan vi ta en annan dagโฆ men jag kan avslรถja att det inte รคr vรฅra tvรฅ favoriter ๐ Barnen som รคr vana vid att segla tyckte det var spรคnnande att flyga. Jag tyckte mest det var smidigt. Men upplevelsen att ta sig รถver Atlanten den fรฅr seglingen stรฅ fรถr. ๐โต๏ธ Hur hade du helst korsat Atlanten? 8 timmar i ett flygplan eller 500 timmar pรฅ en segelbรฅt?
