Deep into the rudder project and we need a long fairing board to sand the blade. There's no point buying one as we don't intend to use it that often (fingers 🤞) and they are quite heavy so what's the solution? Use some scraps of foam and staple the sanding paper to it. Works a treat, didn't cost us anything and it is uper light weight. Winning 👍
The new transom door is also a complete, gel-coated carbon-vinylester moulding, so reducing weight in the boat's back-end. This lightening is in both the door itself and its operational componentry. That Contest achieves the same strength 'numbers' using carbon within our unique vinylester system, and not the more common but less green carbon-epoxy composites, exemplifies again our focus on better working, and better environmental practices.
