On Thursday morning 12th of March, with a gentle breeze, the Alubat sales team has decided to sail around the Bay of Les Sables d'Olonne ! Hakim Rahmoun, new Managing Director of Alubat, has been managing the shipyard since January 2020 and testing for the first time the new 100% aluminium blue water cruising sailboat, the OVNI 400. Denis Vanlaere, Export Manager, takes care of the sails adjustments optimizing the performances of this lifting keel sailboat ! Cécilia Edeline, Sales Manager for France, immortalize this moment behind her camera ;-) and has tested with great pleasure the manoeuvres with this boat in the Port Olona. Unanimously, the OVNI 400 is reactive and very smooth in the waves. The centralization of the sails manoeuvres in the cockpit is very appreciated as it is safe and protected. Here's just a little insight through this video of the pleasure of sailing ! Who will be the next to test her ?

Sign up here (https://tinyurl.com/mryhmwrd) to receive our free quarterly magazine about Hunter's Yard, the Norfolk Broads area, local life and heritage skills. From time to time, the waterways need to be cleaned out a bit, so what do you do? Call in a (brave, perhaps) operator in an excavator on a floating platform...of course. He it is in the dyke leading to the first boatshed built at Hunter's Yard, in 1932 The skills used at Hunter's Yard are both timeless and endangered, those of building and preserving hand-buit wooden boats of yesteryear. Many of the boats looked after by the yard are nearly a century old, but they still sail as if they were launched last week. 🔍 Did you know? The Hunter's Yard fleet comprises 14 classic cabin yachts, and various gaff-rigged 'half-deckers, each with its own story and charm. These vessels are not just for show - they're available for educational use, RYA sail training courses, and public hire! Hunter's Yard is run by the Norfolk Fleet Heritage Trust, a registered charity dedicated to public education, sail training & the preservation, conservation & maintenance of a unique, historic fleet of traditional Broads sailing craft, the boat sheds in which they were built & associated heritage craft skills Want to experience the Norfolk Broads on one of these historic beauties?
