And it was another one of those bad news days. After pulling up the deck on the outside we realised that the wood rot got into the samson post right on deck level. After poking a knife into the samson post to determine how far along the wood rot has gone (hoping we could safe the samson post) we quickly realised that it's rotten almost halfway through and it was a hard decision, I do have to admit it took a bit of convincing, I really wanted to save the old post, I really didn't want another project, it's all getting a bit overwhelming lately, like what the hell was I thinking, buying a timber boat... But yeah the boat builder and a few other friends did talk some sense into me, it is probably not the safest idea to moor your boat on a half rotten post. Let us show you some of the highlights from our deluxe balcony cabin on the stunning MSC Virtuosa! We stayed in this cabin for 5 nights with our 2 young children and found it to have plenty of space for a young family of 4. We loved the kingsize bed and bathroom, and the balcony was a great place to relax (although 4 adults would struggle to fit on it at the same time).
