Croats love it when visitors make the effort to learn their language. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to say you can speak two languages! Before we get started, let it be known that Croatian is a really tough language to learn – everyone will tell you it’s a complicated language to master, given that accents and feminine/masculine nouns are involved. But, like anything that you set your mind to, when you achieve it, it feels good! Here are some basic phrases to get you started on your journey to mastering the Croatian language: English: Hello Croatian: Bok Sounds Like: Bohk English: How are you? Croatian: Kako ste? Sounds Like: kah-koh steh? English: Do you speak English? Croatian: Govorite li engleski? Sounds Like: goh-voh-ree-teh lee en-glees-kee English: Please Croatian: Molim Sounds Like: moh-leem English: A beer/coffee/tea, please Croatian: Pivo/kavu/čaj, molim Sounds Like: PEE-voh/KAH-voo/CH-ay MOH-leem If you're more of a visual learner, check out our blog with more information on basic Croatian phrases to get you started: https://www.sail-croatia.com/set-sail/resource/basic-croatian-phrases

With all these conversations on how to get kids hooked on sailing, we think we have the solution with the Weta. What other boat can you unfurl the screecher, reach along at 12 knots and give a kid who is doing an introduction to sailing course the helm?
