Tie it while you are chugging towards the marina and have it ready in good time. ... Use this knot to add a bit of weight to the end of your rope so it's easier to throw. Try not to hit the person on the dock who's trying to catch it! ... There are lots of variations of this such as the Monkey's Fist, but this one is my favourite for when you are short of time.
