We are enclosing and extending our wheelhouse before winter for protect and so we can move the mainsheet from the top of the aft cabin to above the wheelhouse (better safety and a better sheeting angle). We have nearly finished the prototype/winter hack frame. We are now living aboard our Rival 38 Centre Cockpit full-time while finishing a refit so we can launch ASAP. The Purelip design provides pure wave performance and an enormous wind range. With its pedigree of more than 20 years of refinement, the design continues to improve on balance, stability, and ease of use. The Purelip now feels quicker and more compact as a result of a higher aspect ratio. The increase in mast length is compensated for by the switch to a closed sleeve head which replaces the plug fitting used previously.
