We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard). How to tie a super charged reef knot: the Simple Simon #knots #sailing. Form a bight (loop) and then the easiest way of remembering it is to just use the opposite to the Bowline trick. You know the drill with the rabbit, but backwards ... Down the hole with the working end, round and then back up again. 🔹 This knot is more secure than a reef knot and does not become loose and unravel if it gets jerked around. It also works well with different sized ropes and slippy synthetic, something the Reef can't really claim to do. 🔹 A good one for your Knot Arsenal is the Simon.
