Progress continues on Hull #006 as this classic Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 moves closer to the finish line. This week in the shop: • Hull fully faired and in final prep for paint • Structural glasswork largely complete, including a fully re-glassed engine room with new stringers engineered for the repower • New helm pod fabrication underway • Varnish nearing completion — all sealer coats finished, final build coats up next • Twin Volvo D6 480HP diesels have arrived from W.W. Williams and Power Products and have been test-fit with the new stringer layout We’re excited to partner with Raymarine on their latest electronics and digital switching, and Volvo for their marine diesel power solutions. The Double Over Hand Knot is a variation on the Over Hand knot that creates a larger stopper by adding and additional loop in the main part of the knot. The larger stopper of the Double Over Hand Knot is useful for thinner lines which may slip through the cleat, pulley or eye that the rope is running through. Another advantage the double over hand not has over the single is that it is more secure prior to any load being applied to it. This results in less chance of the double hand knot coming undo.
