Kaikōura Island is the seventh largest island in the Hauraki Gulf and in the early 2000's was purchased from private ownership to become a public reserve managed by a Trust. Since then, extensive eradication of pests has been undertaken and natural regeneration of native forest is occurring. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk up to the airfield on Kaikōura Island. Super excited to have fun together while we explore this unique planet called Earth. Such an epic adventure and we are blessed to have such an opportunity. We have decided to no longer live in fear, or to be restrained by the normalities of this culture. What ever path you choose it must be the one for you. Some may be doctors and lawyers and that is wonderful. Other may enjoy the simple things like cleaning or waiting tables. You must know others path may look completely different than your own, and that's okay. Enjoy your life and walk the path that has been laid before YOU.

Our keel was really on there! We needed to take it off in order to rebed it, and boy did they need to whale at it and do some surgery to get it off!
