It was an exhilarating showdown for the opening race of the 2025 season in the Glen class on the stunning Strangford Lough! With the sun blazing and a perfect breeze sweeping across the bay, the fleet was tightly bunched just before the race began. Boats on Starboard Tack charged toward the pin end of the line, while over half the fleet on port tack raced headlong towards them, setting the stage for an electrifying start to the sailing season. In the end, two boats turned back after a second starting signal blared, revealing that some boats had crossed the line early. One crew was left wishing they hadn’t returned as they learned at the bar post-race that only one boat was actually over the line! Can you guess which boat it was? The annual Narrows Series on Strangford lough was a close contested regatta for the boats in the ICR class. Going to Red leading the A35 out of the narrows and into Strangford lough. This was a tight race with positions change multiple times before GTR came from behind on the last beat to take the race.
