Solinska bay Visited in the Summer 2021 Nice free anchorage open to SE and S. Sand and grass. For safe anchoring, look for sand patches as it will hold better and cause less devastation. Clear water, nice snorkelling. Pebble beach in the corner and couple of houses on the W side. Mainly quiet except a few day visitors with small crafts. And it was another one of those bad news days. After pulling up the deck on the outside we realised that the wood rot got into the samson post right on deck level. After poking a knife into the samson post to determine how far along the wood rot has gone (hoping we could safe the samson post) we quickly realised that it's rotten almost halfway through and it was a hard decision, I do have to admit it took a bit of convincing, I really wanted to save the old post, I really didn't want another project, it's all getting a bit overwhelming lately, like what the hell was I thinking, buying a timber boat... But yeah the boat builder and a few other friends did talk some sense into me, it is probably not the safest idea to moor your boat on a half rotten post.
