A night to remember at PAPA Regatta β the legendary White Party! This tradition, held in classic all-white yachting attire, is all about welcoming newcomers into the sailing crew. Itβs part celebration, part initiation, with lighthearted contests, plenty of laughter, and good vibes all around. And as always, it all ends with dancing into the night. Just one more reason evenings at PAPA Regatta are as memorable as the races themselves. #PAPARegatta #PAPARegatta2021 #TheArtOfSailing #AllWhitePartyNight #FlashMob
For centuries sailors have navigated their way across the oceans by celestial navigation or nautical astronomy - using a sextant with the sun, moon, planets, and stars. For the modern sailor, it is essential when crossing oceans as back up to the modern and much relied upon electronic navigation. If you are curious about how to use a sextant or have taken the RYA Yachtmaster or Ocean Theory courses, or are even self-taught, our celestial sailing weekends are ideal offering both an introduction and a refresher. All are welcome. A big advantage is that you learn in a small group, under the supervision of an expert instructor. The weekends involve sailing along the south side of the Isle of Wight and back up through the Needles. A beautiful area to sail whilst offering ample opportunity to practice using the sextant.
