The course is for novices and focuses on boating safety, NSW Boating regulations, low speed close quarters handling, navigation and seamanship, docking, an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations. The course runs from 9am - 4pm and includes theory sessions and practical handling / skills work. We make sure you have enough practical boat skills to get your NSW General Boat License. Our vessels have the required safety gear, inflatable lifejackets and spray jackets for your use. Eastsails’ training vessels include: A custom built 8m tender with twin 115hp counter rotating outboard engines. An Arvor Weekender 23’ with an inboard 150hp engine bow thruster. A Haines Hunter 445R runabout with a 50hp 4 stroke outboard engine. Eastsail conducts this course in our classrooms or aboard the boats for practical sessions. We will show you through the 12m (40ft) Riviera 4000 Cruiser to ensure you understand what a larger cruiser looks like, the safety, engineering and interior space. Lunch break is for 30 minutes, food is not included but our marina has a cafe and toilets. A written quiz is given at the end of the day to assess your boating skills. The Dehler 30 one design sets a new, uncompromising course. It is designed for maximum performance with the simplest handling - and yet unmistakably a Dehler. A well thought-out package that leaves nothing to be desired and raises the bar in this class of boat. From the Dehler Carbon Cage, carbon mast, bowsprit and twin rudders, to the composite T-keel and the Dehler Stealth Drive - even the standard equipment makes for blistering performance. And that is what it’s all about. The Plug milling is the basis for the first hull of the Dehler 30 one design. The characteristic scow-bow with its steep stern is already visible. The 5-axis milling unit is working its way through the block out of foam and very soon there is a first shape of the final proportions. For beginners and committed wing devotees, the Wingnut is an easy and versatile wing package to cover all conditions. Light and stable, the Wingnut generates smooth power during takeoff even in strong and gusty winds but will flag-out and drift neutrally when surfing waves. The outline of the Wingnut gives it a moderate aspect ratio. Parallel tips help limit the wingspan in the bigger sizes resulting in better clearance over the surface of the water. A stiff leading edge supports a tight and clean canopy, and the inclusion of two generously sized windows aids visibility during flight or transitions. The Wingnut is easy to set up with its large air valves for quick inflation and deflation. When not in use, the Wingnut can be neatly packed into the bag and stored until your next adventure.
