Joe Woods and Red were having a good regatta on San Francisco Bay, when one small error, a round up while setting the chute in Race 6 of the 2010 Melges Worlds, led to disaster. Red continued on immediately after the crash but retired when damage to the boat and an injured crewman made continuing to race unsustainable. O barco Crioula bateu, neste sábado (21), o recorde da regata Alcatrazes por Boreste Marinha do Brasil, prova que abre a Semana de Vela de Ilhabela. A equipe gaúcha fez o percurso de 55 milhas em 6 horas, 1 minuto e 42 segundos. O recorde anterior era do Camiranga, um Soto65, que completou em 6 horas, 4 minutos 03 segundos, em 2015. O veleiro Crioula é um Soto 40 comandando por Eduardo Plass e timoneado pelo atleta olímpico Samuel Albrecht.
