Update Day 3: Both Irish crews through to Gold fleet at Olympic qualifier in Lanzarote. Two race wins today for Robert Dickson and Sean Waddilove have moved the pair into third overall. They were heading for a top three result in their second race of the day but were disqualified for being fractionally over the line at the start. However, it was the opening race of the day that offered the biggest thrill for the Irish team as Dickson and Waddilove were chased around the course by team-mates Ryan Seaton and Séafra Guilfoyle who scored two second places plus a tenth and moved from 17th to 10th overall. Both teams will now compete in the Gold Fleet. Ireland face Belgium and Italy in the contest for the final nation slot for the Olympics. “Both Irish crews showed their capabilities on the water and in the results today with well deserved places in the Gold fleet ,” commented James O’Callaghan, Irish Sailing’s Performance Director. “Two top three results for Ryan and Seafrá have got them into the top ten where they can build further towards Friday’s finale - this event will come down to the wire!”

Previously I sailed with two other people and we did watches of 3 hours which gives you 6 hours off and it was very pleasant. You get enough sleep and your shifts rotate, so no one gets stuck freezing every night. My husband and I are about to do a 4-5 day sail on our own, and I want to know, what is your favourite watch schedule for 2 people? We're planning on 4 hours on, 4 hours off, unless you convince us otherwise! Also, would you do a different style of watches for 3 people crossing the Atlantic ocean? Please comment. Quanto abbiamo atteso questo momento? Per l’umana circa 8 mesi, Per il felino altrettanto. La prima è mia mamma, che inizialmente doveva venire in Rep Dominicana con Gabri, la mamma di Andre, ma alla fine non era riuscita. La seconda è una palla impolverata di crocchette e coccole che non chiede altro che un po’ di attenzioni (ma non troppe!) Ora Julia è (quasi) al completo. Mancherebbero solo una manciata di famigliari per essere pieni pieni. Ma poi tutto questo amore dove lo metteremmo? Ci sono le istruzioni? 🫣 Aspettiamo che scenda un po’ il vento, poi facciamo rotta verso Palermo. Partenza prevista: mercoledì.
