The Aries windvane has kept Fathom on course in all sorts of conditions from 5knots of wind to 50knots of wind, flat seas to tumbling waves, upwind and downwind. I couldn't have got this far without it and have spent many hours watching it do its business without complaint using no electricity and only the power of the wind, a truly fantastic piece of engineering. Secondly the Aquair 100 tow gen. The generator is mounted on the pushpit and the forward motion of the boat spins a metal propeller at the end of 20m of rope. In winds over 15kts the drag created is unimportant and in tandem with the solar panel it keeps the batteries full and the fridge going 24/7. Cheers to both! LAMB PEKA SO MUCH LIKE A HANGI We can taste it just watching it. A must try while sailing in Croatia. It always takes us home, back to NZ, tastes so much like a hangi.
