Igår var en av de tuffare dagarna hittills. Vi hittade fler problem än vi hade önskat, men också lösningar. Vi tror att vi har fått stopp på läckan i akterkabinen, plattan till roderinfästningen känns under kontroll och idag tar vi det lugnare med revade segel. Ibland är en vilodag inte att göra ingenting, utan att ge både båten och oss själva en chans att hämta andan innan nästa etapp. Det ser ut att kunna komma lite mer byvindar i dagarna. 🌊 Tack för att ni följer vår resa. Quick test of a tiny QEV cannon firing air at 12atm, viewed through a Schlieren setup (no razor blade). Unedited at normal speed. I didn't quite understood the need for a razor blade but without one I still see the flow of air. For me, the razor blade just makes the dot of light smaller(?) If anyone can clarify me what the razor blade really does and where it should be placed (in the source of light or in the camera) I'd really appreciate. Also important to note that this is AWESOME to look with the naked eye but almost the dimmest light can blind you. I covered a tiny LED torch with aluminum foil and punctured a hole with a sewing needle, on the side! so that the LED doesn't bright directly through the hole. Take care with the eyes!!

Epic Navigator Σε μία ορεινή εξόρμηση στον Ερύμανθο με τον αδερφό μου εντοπίσαμε ένα παράξενο και φανταχτερό πλασματάκι στο δρόμο. Επρόκειτο για μία Σαλαμάνδρα της φωτιάς ή ευρωπαϊκή Σαλαμάνδρα η οποία είναι ελαφρώς τοξική. Πρόκειται για σπάνιο είδος οπότε εάν τη συναντήσετε βοηθήστε τη να περάσει το δρόμο αλλά πλύνετε και τα χέρια σας μετά...

Planteamos los rumbos en la carta náutica de la Ría de Vigo. Hoy en día estamos totalmente acostumbrados a navegar con todo el abanico de equipos electrónicos que nos ofrece el mercado. Para mí, es un buen hecho. Hay que hacer buen uso de las tecnologías para mejorar nuestra calidad de navegación. Pero también he de decir desde mi puesto de profesor de prácticas de titulaciones náuticas homologadas, que un 80% de los navegantes están dejando de utilizar los métodos tradicionales y alguno ni tan siquiera lo ha puesto en práctica nunca. Muy pocos alumnos saben llevar el rumbo en el compás. Algunos de ellos capitanes de yate. De los que quedan, a los cinco minutos se despistan y se van del rumbo.
