J109 Going to Red was tacking in close quarters to the shore shortly after the start of the harbour race of Volvo Cork week 2024. With the tide rushing into Cork Harbour it paid to stick to the right to get relief from the in rushing tide. There are a couple of close crosses as the majority of the fleet tried to maximise the relief they got. Still in Cape Town for Day 3. We started the day at the V&A Waterfront Marina; there, we were able to follow the finishing work being done on a Balance 442. This phase, which lasts about 10 days, includes setting the sails, checking the rigging, and finally the Owner's handover after that. Then, we were able to visit the Ullman Sails factory with Tony Strutt.
